Qi Gong Exercises description  (word document for Level 1 Earth Exercise)

Qi Gong is not only a series of gentle movement exercises for physical health, or work with different focus points/energy-centers of the body; it is also an advanced system of meditation designed to elevate your consciousness and help you to, over time, manifest your higher self (called “The Superior Individual”).

Yi Fa Qi gong is a series of exercises and practices, based on the elemental system found in the I Ching, the most ancient of Chinese spiritual texts. In spite of being one of the most advanced and complete systems of Qi Gong, the basic exercises of Yi Fa are very simple and easy to learn. The exercises do not take very long to do and are ideal for the modern world as you can adjust the time spent on the exercises according to your daily schedule.

I CHING

Swami Anand Nisarg is the author of The Magician’s I Ching, published by Karnac/Aeon books.

He has been a student of the I Ching for over 20 years, and of both the western and eastern esoteric/magical tradition. He is a spiritual teacher with students and initiates worldwide, and the modern head of the YI FA Society, a school for training in a meditation system of inner alchemy based on the I Ching and Qi Gong.

The I Ching is “the book of changes”; as a text it is the oldest spiritual book in Chinese history, and one of the Five Classics (the five books that Chinese culture considers the ‘foundational’ books of their entire civilization; it’s the only one of the five that is about spirituality).

The core section of the I Ching (called the Zhou Yi) dates to about three thousand years ago, and was compiled by King Wen and his son the Duke of Zhou, but it is clear that they were only organizing in written form a system that was already old by their time.  For its entire history it has been venerated by Chinese culture, and is the only sacred text that is considered sacred to all three of the major Chinese religions (Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism).  For the last 3000 years virtually every great Chinese philosopher has studied the I Ching and most presented new insights and commentaries on it, many of which survive to this day.

The I Ching is a book of philosophy and of metaphysics but is also a practical ‘oracle’ system, where a practitioner can ask a question and then use a method based on binary mathematics to generate one of the 64 ‘hexagrams’ of the I Ching; this ‘casting’ system acts as a kind of measurement of space/time in the context of the question, showing you the balance of yin and yang (in the form of the 8 elements) as of the moment where you ask the question, what parts of the situation are stable and which are in the process of Change, and how that change will evolve over time.

Or to put it another way, it uses probability to show you the probable direction of change to predict outcomes based on the choices you make.

Additionally, in the time of Confucius (2500 years ago) that great master wrote a set of commentaries on the I Ching which became a part of the official text, in it he explains the I Ching not just as a decision-making tool but as a system of inner-alchemy, where you can use the I Ching to understand how to manifest your higher self in any given situation.

The symbols of the I Ching became the basic symbols of all Chinese metaphysical systems: so the 8 elements of the I Ching are the foundation on which the theories of Acupuncture, Qi Gong, Feng Shui, and most native forms of Chinese martial arts are based.

The I Ching wasn’t translated into English until the second half of the 19th century, and its system was not actually practiced by any westerner we know of until the early 20th century.  It did not become popular in the west until the academic Wilhelm-Baynes translation in the 1950s, where the introduction to that edition was written by Carl Jung, who considered it of immense value to Jungian psychology.   It was also highly influential on a number of other western thinkers including writers and poets (Jorge Luis Borges, who wrote the introduction to the Spanish edition; also Ginsburg and the other beat poets, Philip K. Dick, and many others), mystics (Aleister Crowley, Robert Anton Wilson, Huxley, Timothy Leary, Terrence McKenna, Alan Watts, John Blofeld), and mathematicians and scientists (especially quantum theorists – Heisenberg, Schroedinger, and Niels Bohr who added the taiji symbol to his coat of arms).

The Magician’s I Ching may be purchased from the Karnac Books website. Alternatively, the book can be purchased through amazon:  http://www.amazon.com/Magicians-Ching-Swami-Anand-Nisarg/dp/1904658652

Pathways

December 18, 2012

The contention and illusion of battle is a reflection of our social pulse. Tension energy resonates throughout everyone. Worldwide, people collaborate in this pulsating tension as the end of the solstice approaches, and the beginning of a new day nears.

Ardent heartbeats vibrate in the soul to prepare for a voyage of peace and harmony with everyone. Break away from the model that was created by the social community and carry forth your truth for others to see.

Open your eyes to the calmness and the reality unveiled. Allow trust to permeate your heart to allow life to unfold to its fullness. Now, demonstrate a new way and others will follow.

As health concerns grow, people seek a deeper truth that will unleash the spirit unto its rightful freedom.

Student Feedback

Touch For Health through the eyes of recent students

Compiled by Georgio Trimarchi, TFH instructor

December 2012

Taste testing: (Information sent from S.S.)

During a recent TFH level 1 workshop, a student began to experience distress signals from her bowels and hot sweats after consuming a delicious dessert.  She rejoined our class after completing her 1hour porcelain communication with a distressed look on her face. At the same time, the class broke up into pairs to do a “balance as you go” on each other. This gave me time to assess the situation. The student felt that she could no longer continue the class (2nd day in the morning) and that she had to go home.

After receiving permission to test her, I felt that we should at least perform a balancing on her to support her energy and hope for the best….I had a level 2 student provide the balancing with level 1 criteria’s (balance as you go). After all, it was a level 1 class and this was an opportunity to engage in a real life situation.

20 minutes later, with continued hydration and balancing the stomach, small intestines and large intestines meridians, the emotional stress release (ESR) technique proved worthy as a final support. The student felt great, able to continue the class and eat lunch without any ill affect!

This experience reinforces confidence in trying a balancing with what you know, even while you are learning level 1.

Salsa Dancing: (Information sent from J.D.)

A dance instructor had the opportunity to experience a touch for health balancing from her sister that recently completed level 2. As this student flew to the west (from Toronto), she instructed this dancer to write some goals down before she arrived (very efficient). Well, to her surprise, she was confronted with 20 goals. I thought this would be great practice for her since each goal (inhibited/unlocked) would require a 14 muscle balance.

The dance instructor’s symptoms included the usual aches and pains throughout the body that these athletes endure. She was also unable to sleep soundly. She has been teaching for more than 20 years.

During the balancing, this student would use a variety of techniques from level 1 and 2, but mainly used the wheel balancing and 5 elements. She did notice that some goals, that were inhibited, locked after only performing the usual 14 muscle test (all muscles were locking).  This gives rise to the potential of moving the energy flow of the meridians with only the muscle testing.

The dance instructor commented on the fact that she was able to perform her tasks instructing students with great ease, pain free and felt stronger and more balanced in her daily activities. She had restful sleep, which was uncommon for many years, which provided an opportunity to regain her energy and heal.

Emergency room: The following is a letter from a student that has completed TFH level 1(M.F).

Touch for health is a great addition to my family.  Since we have opened ourselves up to the touch for health way of treating our bodies, we’ve been able to live life more positively and feel great about the choice of healing ourselves through the body’s natural energies.

Recently I took part in the level 1 course of touch for health and it was the absolute best thing I had ever experienced.  During the two day course we got the opportunity to learn from an amazing instructor and practice our new found knowledge on each other.  Wow!!! Hard to believe that I can actually make a difference in someone’s health simply by knowing the 14 meridians!

Recently, my son was home sick with food poisoning.  It was such a great feeling knowing that I had enough knowledge, through what I learned in level 1 of the touch for health course, to be confident enough in myself to test and balance him.  As I began the test I found that his stomach and large intestine meridian’s were unlocking only on one side.  With the application of pressure and massage on the neurolymphatic points associated with the stomach and large intestine I was able to provide him with relief from the cramping and pain.  He was able to feel the benefit and more importantly, communicate to me what he was feeling and experiencing.   It is amazing to know that I could use what I am learning on my 12 year old son and actually see how well it works.  Looking forward to experiencing more and possibly helping others reap the benefit of Touch for Health.

After spending five hours in emergency (arriving home at 7:30 am) with my son to rule out appendicitis I was wiped!  My body was physically exhausted and my mind was following suit. It was through the support of Georgio and my fellow classmates that I was able to continue with the second half of the level 1 course.  Thanks to everyone who helped balance me and gave me the opportunity to finish off the best course that I have ever been involved in. See you in the second part of our adventure!

Instructor’s note:

This student arrived at the course as we completed a student exchange. I began to muscle test this student during day 2 of TFH level 1 and found that she was unable to lock with any muscle. She was certainly overwhelmed from her son’s experience (and lack of sleep). I had another student perform the ESR technique. After a few minutes, she came back to life! She felt her energy rise and her muscles starting locking. This was a great opportunity to show how a 1 point balancing works and introduce TFH level 2. We were now able to communicate with her system and provide her with a TFH balance.

Hair loss has been on the list of complaints from various clients of mine over the years. My approach to address this concern is to balance the internal system of a person. Some of the causes of hair loss are hormone imbalances, infections that deplete the nutrition of the body, weakness in various organs such as lungs and kidneys, as well as circulation problems. The objective is to balance the totality of the individual and support the focus of treatment with proper nutrition.

Over the years, while being treated for general health concerns, some clients have unexpectedly experienced improved hair growth.  In contrast, I observed that others experienced no success with their hair growth improvement. This observation led me to further investigate internal approaches to hair loss issues. I started to recognize that even if the body was balanced in nutrition and energy that the external body, i.e. hair and scalp, needed some type of stimulation to enhance the vitality of the hair. When I tested this product, it showed great promise and led me to perform my own non-scientific study.

Bamboo Hair and Scalp Stimulator was presented to me as a topical treatment.  I decided to try this product with some of my clients who have been experiencing hair loss.

The testing started in March 2011 with four subjects between the ages of 40 to 50 years old – two men and two women.  Energy tests performed on the two versions of the product – Women’s Bamboo Hair and Men’s Bamboo Hair, indicated that, for both genders, the women’s blend would balance the weakened areas of the head that experienced hair loss.  The patients were instructed to spray the area of concern with 2 pumps in the morning and 2 pumps at night and to thoroughly massage their scalp with the product.  The two women had long hair and experienced thinning on the top of the head (front to back area).  One male subject experienced balding on the crown (photo below) and the second had receding hair on the sides of the front of the head (no photos available).

March 15 2011-Start of study (above) and June 20, 2011 (Right) (Click on photos to enlarge)

The photo above depicts change in 3 months after the use of 1 bottle of Women’s Bamboo Hair. An energy test was performed at this time which indicated a smaller area of weakness in the balding area, matching the visible change. (Note:  photo settings vary between the two.) A second bottle was given to this subject as well as the other 3 in the study.

The female subject (photos below), had considerable hair thinning, in spite of having long hair.

March 15 2011-Start of study (Left) and Oct 20, 2011 (Below) (Click on photos to enlarge)

The photo above depicts change in 7 months after the use of 2 bottles of Women’s Bamboo Hair.  Notice the circumference of the area of balding is smaller with the photo on the right.  An energy test was performed at this time which indicated no area of weakness in the top of the head area, matching the visible change. (Note:  photo settings vary between the two.)

Results/Testimonials:

The female subjects found that hair loss was significantly reduced and the hair felt stronger by the end of the first bottle. The men subjects felt that their hair felt stronger and fuller. The men subjects did not complain of large quantities of hair loss as the women did.

The hair stylists of the female subjects noticed healthier and stronger hair with small “peach fuzz” hair growth in thinning areas.

Discussion:

The Bamboo Hair product, used in study showed improvement in hair quality and vitality of existing hair in four healthy balanced subjects.  The women had significantly reduced hair loss.

The study provided evidence that Bamboo Hair does improve hair loss where existing follicles are found, and strengthens existing hair.

In my opinion, this product improves hair weakness, prevents further hair loss and encourages vitality to hair follicles which creates potential for hair growth. I would recommend this product to my clients in conjunction with energy therapy, in order to rule out any health deficiencies or obstacles.

This product, in my opinion, would not help hair growth in smooth bald areas of the scalp or completely bald subjects.  Existing hair follicles are required to maximize this products potential.

Time, patience and discipline in using this product daily with scalp massage are needed to maximize results when using this Bamboo Hair product.

Meditation Techniques

This article focuses on the author’s personal meditation experience. There are many forms of meditation– the key is to keep practicing.

MEDITATION

Although it can be practiced on its own, meditation is most beneficial when performed after Qigong exercises (see Qigong part 1 and or 2 articles).

BENEFITS OF MEDITATION:

Meditation relaxes the mind allowing the nervous system to relax and perform optimally throughout the body with its neural matrix. You will notice a general sense of relaxation and clarity – especially during everyday stresses – improvement of vision, blood circulation, and experience an increase of energy. Your body should feel infused with vitality.

Meditation will strengthen your mind resulting in an increased ability to focus on daily tasks that require your attention. With practice, you will eventually be in a regular state of focus or awareness of every moment, and appreciate the beauty of life and all that surrounds you.

POSITIONS:

Meditation can be started in various positions—lying down on your back, sitting or standing. Each position is useful to assist the body.

Lying supine (on the spine) is considered a healing position and requires the least amount of energy to perform. In this position, it is common to fall asleep, which is perfectly acceptable. The body heals optimally when in a sleep mode or deep rest.

Sitting meditation is commonly known from pop culture. This position is favourable and requires more energy than lying supine. Getting comfortable is necessary to maintain this position for a meditation session. If the lotus position is uncomfortable at this stage (see photo), use a pillow under the buttock as support to help prevent pain and discomfort. For those with leg or hip problems, sitting in a chair is an alternative.

Standing meditation posture is common to martial arts, known as the warrior stance. This position uses the most energy in maintaining balance with the pull of gravity. Rewarding in its own way, it is an alternative to the other two positions.

All three postures can be used to attain the desired results. Try each one to determine the benefits for you personally.

MEDITATION PRACTICE-A Personal Experience (Sitting Position):

Various teachers of meditation have influenced the author’s practice.

BEGIN, in sitting position, with one hand on top of the other hand with thumbs crossing. Place hands just below the navel over the Danteen location (energy area). Perform four counter clockwise rotations around the navel with the hands and then repeat in a clockwise direction. This is performed to stimulate energy flow from this area. Return to the starting position.

Place the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth with slight pressure. Purse your lips so that a fine breath of air flows out.

Begin by breathing in slowly and naturally, without force, in through the nose. The exhalation phase (breathing out) will occur passively out through the mouth. Once you feel heat in the Danteen area, imagine (as you breath in) an energy flow travelling from the base of your spine, up the spine and over your head to the top lip. At the same time feel the energy flow up from the navel to the bottom lip. As you exhale from your mouth, allow this energy to flow out. Begin a new breath in from your nose and continue the flow of energy up towards both lips. If you visualize this flow, you will eventually feel it. Do not reverse the flow down to the Danteen.

Focusing on the breath is the key to meditation for the beginner. This technique of bringing the energy to the lips helps in focusing on the breath.

Alternative techniques to help with focusing are to focus on the flame of a lit candle (in a lit room); focus on the exchange periods of your breath (the still point between breathing in and out).

It is common to drift away from focusing on the breath. Recognize it and bring yourself back to your breath focus.

End the session of meditation, when ready, by rubbing your hands together creating heat. Immediately place the hands over your face for a few moments. Repeat rubbing hands and place them over the small of your back (kidney area). Then tap your body with your hands from head to toe to reawaken your body from the stillness of meditation. Your peace and stillness will vibrate throughout your day.

OPEN EYE MEDITATION:

Open eye meditation is useful for those whom are not able to sit in stillness. Examples of this type of meditation are washing dishes, going for a walk and gardening (be creative). These are tasks that do not require as much cerebral activity. After a while of performing these tasks, the mind starts to relax and unwind, achieving a meditative state. Relaxing the mind is the goal in this practice.

Spend 1 minute to 30 minutes or more on meditation. If your time is limited, use a timer (that beeps) to keep you on track in your day. With practice come results!

For it will then truly express

The ways are able to say what is best

For it is when one realizes

That life is truly full of surprises

Though need truly understand

That Self Honour and Respect are equally grand

For it is with oneself you see

Where the gentleness is present so Kindly

And as well it truly shows

DISEASE ROOTS

DISEASE

Disease exists when the individual decides that there is absolutely no way out, out of the zoo. It begins with a thought of negative way that they established as their own, their own protective way of keeping self stuck and tormented inside, by not allowing self to live, to live and let live in and outside. It is almost always a thought, a negative thought projected at someone else and held on to it tightly as though a second rib. The energy from this thought creates distortion of it’s own and is then turned into a cellular level and hooks on. This begins to create a mass negativity on a molecular level that begins to eat away, because it’s own energy creates more and more fire. The only way to reverse the process once has begun, is to change the belief of the thinking that: It is all not really going to change. Then once they realize they have a choice in the matter then need to go in with chi and change that ridiculous order. Because that chi circulates, as you know, it itself has the ability to grow and yet again change the cellular belief that it’s imbalance is the only way to go. So then it could use the same assistance indeed but that need be natural for otherwise it just creates more and more unnatural state. So peaceful acceptance is all that’s required, it comes from the thoughts, no other.
